COMPANY
The PEG MedAustron company was founded on February 25, 2005 as project development company. The company was set the task of finding a private investor for MedAustron through an international invitation to tender.
Since no tenderer accepted the market risks of the project in the form proposed, the Lower Austrian government stepped in to finance the project as public investor under the same conditions. For this purpose the construction and operation company MedAustron ( EBG MedAustron GmbH ) was founded on April 12, 2007.
PEG MedAustron was then endowed with new tasks of planning and organizing the MedAustron non-clinical research facilities to be used by public and private research institutions. Furthermore the PEG MedAustron Company by order of its shareholders has the task to request financial support means for investments in the field of non-clinical research and to check the orderly use of such means.
